Encouraging learning through fun, creativity, and faith
Children have a wonderful curiosity and naturally absorb the world around them. Newbreak Playschool is an inviting space for your child to safely explore, discover and grow. We understand that each family is unique, so our program specializes in individualized care to meet each family’s needs. Our commitment to excellent play, education, and care is driven by a strong faith and commitment to God.
Preschool is a time for children to express creativity, expand language development, build social and emotional skills and so much more. We offer play based encounters that will engage your child’s natural development.
Our experienced and loving staff will offer excellent care for your child while providing activities that teach, inspire, and encourage growth. Teachers familiarize themselves with your child’s specific needs and learning style to engage socially, emotionally, and spiritually through one-on-one and group experiences.
Educational directives have shifted over recent years but we understand what hasn’t changed; children learn best through play and self-discovery. Our goal is to prepare children for future school years by nurturing their natural love of learning.
Located in North Ocean Beach, our preschool is also easily accessible to residents in Pacific Beach and Point Loma.

CURRICULUMPreschool is a time for learning ABC’s and 123’s, yet it is also about so much more! We weave the best child development approaches into our play-based activities to meet every child’s age and need. Our curriculum is designed to encourage children’s growth physically, academically, emotionally, socially and spiritually by engaging them in discovery and interaction.
- FOCUS – The first focus is simple. We are happy to be a ministry of Newbreak Church and it is a privilege to teach children about a loving God, His Son Jesus and the awesome plan He has for everyone! Secondly, we are an active or “play-based” program that allows children to learn organically through play and exploration.
- GOALS – We are committed to encouraging a love for learning and an excitement for school. We strive to offer every child safety and security so that upon leaving our program they feel confident, excited and ready for future learning.
- APPROACH - Our dedicated staff carefully observe and interact with the children to plan and implement activities that will pique the child’s interest. Activities and curriculum are carefully coordinated to ensure children are growing and learning as they have fun and interact with their world.
NUTRITIONWe understand that the right nutrition can make all the difference for a child’s behavior and outlook during the day. Families have busy schedules and meal planning can be a challenge so we are happy to provide a morning snack, a full lunch and an afternoon snack. Meals and snacks are served “family style” and we use the opportunity for learning social skills, encouraging manners and enhancing language development. Our goal is to steer away from processed food as much as possible and provide a variety of foods for your child to try. Each lunch is carefully planned to include all five food components and milk is always provided with lunch. Snacks typically include a fresh fruit or vegetable and a grain or protein; water is served with snack to encourage proper hydration.
